How to be an effective AAUW EF advocate

from Mary Lee Powell

AAUW/Ohio Education Foundation Vice President

Included in this information is a list of Ohio Endowments established by individuals, as well as by branches or the state board. Those listed in italics are not yet stipend producing. Endowments established before July 1, 2004, require only $100,000 for Fellowships or $35,000 for Research and Project Grants in order to become stipend producing. I would encourage you to consider designating your contributions to one of those endowments!

I would like to encourage not only branch fundraising, but also requests to members to make individual contributions to AAUW’s Educational Foundation.

The rewards of giving to AAUW’s Educational Foundation: Only 7 percent of money donated to all philanthropic organizations specifically go to help women and girls each year. By giving to AAUW, you can feels good because you know you are helping women and girls obtain educational opportunities they might not otherwise receive. Equity is still an issue.

When you make an individual donation of $100 to the Eleanor Roosevelt Fund you help fund educational and equity research. And you will receive a special Eleanor Roosevelt pin to wear proudly yourself. A different unique pin design is available to donors each year.
