Issue Advocacy Projects

Organizing|Becoming Informed|Planning Projects|Lobbying|Recognizing Accomplishments

Branch activism ranges from simple actions such as sending Two-Minute Activist alerts to your members to sponsoring more complex projects such as voter forums, Pay Equity Days and public forums on key issues.

The Association Public Policy and Government Relations Department has published a Woman-to-Woman Voter Turnout manual to help branches plan and execute get-out-the-vote projects, build coalitions, register voters, publish voter guides and sponsor issue and candidate forums.

There are also many issue-related guides, such as the Pay Equity Resource Kit,that will help you develop projects.  Explore the AAUW Issues page on the Association website for many other action ideas.
