State level public policy activities are aimed at helping branches carry out the AAUW Public Policy Program as well as working to advance issues of particular concern in Ohio.

AAUW/Ohio has been involved in supporting public education by opposing vouchers and some aspects of charter schools and in advocating for reproductive choice, by testifying for and against proposed legislation, or participating in lobby days.  We track Pending Legislation of interest to members being considered in the state legislature.

AAUW/Ohio encourages branch Public Policy Chairs and members to:

Join the Lobby Corps sponsored by the Ohio League of Women Voters,

Participate in our Letter Corps by e-mail or snail mail to their state legislators about issues in Ohio related to women and girls,

Publish articles in your branch newsletter about public policy.  These could be Association public policy communications or articles written by your state public policy co-chairs that are posted on this Web site.  Use this section as a resource.

Carry out Ohio projects including the Pay Equity Sale in late April.

AAUW/OHIO MEMBERS participated in the Ohio League of Women Voters Lobby Day training last year.
